I got the St Embers version and I definitely love it. I don't mix it. I take it in shots and it tastes so good. I get a happy feeling buzz that I enjoy a lot. It's not Alcohol but the buzz is worth every penny.

I recently tried the Little Saints non-alcoholic spirits bundle, featuring their St. Juniper (gin replica) and St. Ember (tequila replica), and I’m genuinely impressed by the creativity and flavor these bottles bring to the table. As someone exploring alcohol alternatives, I was curious how these mushroom-infused, zero-proof options would stack up—and they didn’t disappoint.
Starting with St. Juniper, the gin-inspired spirit, I was greeted by a bright, herbaceous aroma that instantly reminded me of a classic gin. The blend of juniper, cucumber, birch, and yuzu creates a crisp, woodsy-citrus profile that’s both refreshing and complex. I mixed it with tonic water and a squeeze of lime (2 oz St. Juniper, 1 oz lime juice, 3 oz tonic), and it was hands-down the best non-alcoholic “G&T” I’ve had in a while. The addition of lion’s mane mushroom and damiana promises a mood-lifting effect, and while I can’t say I felt a dramatic buzz, there was a subtle, playful lightness to the experience that made it enjoyable.
Next up was St. Ember, the tequila-inspired spirit, and this one really surprised me. The smoky, woody notes from palo santo, paired with a spicy kick of ginger and peppers, gave it a bold, mezcal-like character. I tried it in a simple margarita mocktail (2 oz St. Ember, 1 oz lime juice, a splash of agave, and club soda over ice), and the depth of flavor held its own—no alcohol needed. With only 5 calories per serving and no sugar, it’s a guilt-free indulgence that still…

I polished off my assortment of canned mocktales and loved them! Now to create my own. Fill a tall glass with ice, add St. Ember to taste, fill with diet tonic water, add a splash of lime juice, 1 Mariana cherry with syrup and 1 packet of Stevia, then stir. The result is mildly sweet and refreshing!

A DELICIOUS sub for gin! 2 oz St. Juniper, 1oz fresh lime juice, 3oz Tonic makes for the best non-alcoholic cocktail I’ve had since I stopped drinking alcohol over a year ago! Thank you for your good work Little Saints!

FAQS
How will the Spirits make me feel?
Now that tens of thousands of people have tried our spirits, we’re confident in just one thing: everyone feels different things! On one end of the spectrum, our founder’s mom starts laughing and giggling after one sip, even though the lion’s mane is not psychoactive or intoxicating. On the other end of the spectrum, you’ve seen in our reviews that some people claim not to feel a thing. Most people land in the middle, reporting they feel a subtle, happy lift – a little bit smarter, a little bit more magnetic and a little bit more interesting.
Will these Spirits give me a buzz?
No. We don’t like to use the word “buzz” around here because we tend to associate it with the feeling alcohol provides, and lion’s mane mushroom isn’t a 1:1 swap for alcohol. So while St. Ember and St. Juniper won’t give you a buzz, it is formulated to give you a happy lift.
Why Lions Mane?
We’re all chasing that feeling of being a little bit smarter, like everything you say is clicking with the other person and you’re present and in the moment. We think of that feeling as magnetism – like you’re attracting the best in yourself and another person. That’s why we included lion’s mane, a functional mushroom long revered for its association with increased cognition, focus and overall brain functioning. We’ve had Little Saints dinner parties where all our guests drink is our St. Ember and St. Juniper —and can conclusively report that people head home feeling happy, elevated, smart and in flow.
Does St. Ember or St. Juniper taste like mushrooms?
Unlike mushroom coffees, we don’t grind up mushrooms and put them in our drinks. Instead, we use ultrasound to extract the beta Glucans (the part of the mushroom with health effects and no flavor) from the lion’s mane and Reishi , and then we add that extract to our drinks.
What are the natural flavors in St. Ember?
St. Ember is a curious blend of palo santo, ginger and cardamom extracts, along with particular natural flavors added to improve the experience, including capsicum (a flavor derived from peppers to deliver that nice little burn generally associated with alcoholic spirits) and flavors derived from vanilla to balance out the spice.
What are the natural flavors in St. Juniper?
St. Juniper is a curious blend of juniper, birch, cardamom, coriander, angelica root, along with particular natural flavors added to improve the experience, including capsicum (a flavor derived from peppers to deliver that nice little burn generally associated with alcoholic spirits), and flavors derived from yuzu and cucumber botanicals.
How much St. Ember or St. Juniper can I drink?
As much as you want — unless your doctor has told you to limit your consumption of lion’s mane (in both spirits) or damiana (only in St. Juniper).
If there is 0g of sugar in St. Ember and St. Juniper, what is it sweetened with?
There are no sweeteners in our spirits. You may taste a slight sweetness in the St. Ember, which comes from the pure palo santo extract. A little known fact about palo santo is that it is within the fennel and mint family, and its oils (from which our palo santo extract is derived) have a flavor slightly reminiscent of fennel and mint.
What is Damiana?
Damiana is a wild flowering shrub native to Mexico, Central America, and the American Southwest, long revered for its heart-opening properties. At Little Saints, we use damiana for its natural ability to elevate the spirit and inspire love.
