I’m Megan Klein, the founder of Little Saints. I sold the first batch of Little Saints cans out of my mint green vending trailer named “Baby Mint” in Detroit in the summer of 2021 as a solution to my own pandemic problem: love cocktails, hate hangovers.Prior to founding Little Saints, I was your classic work hard, play hard corporate professional. During the day, I exercised, ate healthy, and worked hard. At night, I rewarded myself with cocktails. My socializing always went hand-in-hand with drinking, and it wasn’t until the pandemic that I realized the damage that booze was doing to my mental and physical health.
That doesn’t mean I ever wanted to stop drinking; I just wanted to drink something that was better than alcohol. I decided to do Dry January in 2021 (after trying and failing 15 times before) and bought every non-alcoholic option I could find. Everything was full of sugar, and nothing captured the essence of a really good cocktail—no smell, no feeling.
With the help of an expert food scientist, I set out to create Little Saints: zero sugar, non-alcoholic cocktails and spirits fueled by mushrooms, eliminating the need to choose between having fun or feeling good.
Since Little Saints’ beginning, I’ve served our drinks to thousands of people who have a similar experience to mine: they know alcohol isn’t making them feel their best, but they don’t want to quit drinking. Little Saints exists so that no one has to settle - we really can have it all.
