St. Oak

NON-ALCOHOLIC SPIRIT

Rated 4.6 out of 5 stars
106 Reviews

Crafted for those who cherish the deep, comforting warmth of brown liquors, this non-alcoholic spirit honors the character of rye and bourbon and captures the soul of an oak-aged whiskey. Using carefully selected American and French oak extracts, St. Oak is infused with the smoky, woody aroma and flavor that mark the soul of an oak-aged whiskey, combined with notes of vanilla, caramel, and spice.

Enhanced with a trifecta of functional ingredients—Lion’s Mane, Reishi for calm, for clarity, and Damiana for ease—this spirit softens your edges without dulling your shine.

FAQs

Now that tens of thousands of people have tried our spirits, we’re confident in just one thing: everyone feels different things! On one end of the spectrum, our founder’s mom starts laughing and giggling after one sip, even though the lion’s mane is not psychoactive or intoxicating. On the other end of the spectrum, you’ve seen in our reviews that some people claim not to feel a thing. Most people land in the middle, reporting they feel a subtle, happy lift – a little bit smarter, a little bit more magnetic and a little bit more interesting.

No. We don’t like to use the word “buzz” around here because we tend to associate it with the feeling alcohol provides, and lion’s mane mushroom isn’t a 1:1 swap for alcohol. So while St. Ember and St. Juniper won’t give you a buzz, it is formulated to give you a happy lift.

We’re all chasing that feeling of being a little bit smarter, like everything you say is clicking with the other person and you’re present and in the moment. We think of that feeling as magnetism – like you’re attracting the best in yourself and another person. That’s why we included lion’s mane, a functional mushroom long revered for its association with increased cognition, focus and overall brain functioning. We’ve had Little Saints dinner parties where all our guests drink is our St. Ember and St. Juniper —and can conclusively report that people head home feeling happy, elevated, smart and in flow.

Unlike mushroom coffees, we don’t grind up mushrooms and put them in our drinks. Instead, we use ultrasound to extract the beta Glucans (the part of the mushroom with health effects and no flavor) from the lion’s mane and Reishi , and then we add that extract to our drinks.

As much as you want — unless your doctor has told you to limit your consumption of lion’s mane (in both spirits) or damiana (only in St. Juniper).

There are no sweeteners in our spirits. You may taste a slight sweetness in the St. Ember, which comes from the pure palo santo extract. A little known fact about palo santo is that it is within the fennel and mint family, and its oils (from which our palo santo extract is derived) have a flavor slightly reminiscent of fennel and mint.

Little Saints cocktails are crafted with natural botanical extracts and flavors that may contain trace amounts of alcohol (less than 0.5% ABV), well below regulatory limits for non-alcoholic beverages and similar to apple juice, flavored sparkling water and kombucha.

    It Grows On You

This was my first experience with non-alcoholic drinks, so I was expecting something much closer to the actual thing. The color is nice but it looks very thin. I wasn't sure I would like it when I first tasted it, but I was comparing it to actual bourbon or whiskey. Once I got past thinking of it as a substitute and began to think of it as an alternative, the taste has grown on me. I have since tried another brand and didn't like it nearly as much as this one. I really like the subtle flavors and I especially like the pepper 'burn'. And the best part is, it's made of lion's mane mushrooms! You have a return customer. My liver and my brain thank you :) .

    St Oaks

Not as I expected! I was hoping for a barrel Bourbon taste. So I added it to my NA Hazy IPA,and it was a great taste enhancer. 😊 As a drinker,I was a Bourbon drinker. Now sober,im trying different things to replace my alcohol cravings.

    Good NA Whiskey

On the downside, with a name like St. Oak I expected more oaky flavor. It’s also thin, like most NAs.

On the upside if you mix it into an old fashioned (go a little heavier on the bitters) it gives a nice back of the throat red pepper sting, which while not exactly an alcohol burn, does push it into a sipping drink, which is what whiskey should be. All in all it’s on my list of NAs I’ll buy again.

    Acquired taste

Don’t expect the taste of regular alcoholic beverage but I do like it. Has a bit of a bite and is very refreshing.
