We are seeking a part-time marketing specialist with a penchant for the peculiar and a passion for creating engaging content that stands out in a sea of sameness. As our Marketing Specialist, you will be the mastermind behind our Instagram and email marketing execution, working closely with the Head of Marketing to breathe life into our brand through unconventional and captivating storytelling. This position is perfect for someone working on a side project or doing similar work for another company. This is an independent contractor position, part-time, estimated 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage Instagram content and posting: Develop and curate visually striking and thought-provoking content for Instagram and email campaigns in accordance to our marketing calendar. This includes images, videos, and written content tailored for our unique audience. 
    • Execute weekly email: Use our pre-created templates in Klaviyo to build a weekly sales email, in addition to monitoring and optimizing our email flows (monitoring is light work).
    • Instagram and Tik Tok community management: Be the ringleader of our online community across IG and Tik Tok, working to find our people and bring them closer.
  • Analytics: Report on weekly performance against established benchmarks to manage trendlines.

  • The traits we’re looking for:

    • Lover of plants: You are aware of the power of plants and mushrooms and want to be part of making (functional) mushrooms in new form factors mainstream.
    • Intrigued by taboo concepts: You embrace the unconventional and are comfortable exploring and creating content in spaces others might shy away from. Your ability to navigate and thrive in somewhat taboo spaces will be crucial to our success.
    • Scrappy: You get scrappy and think on your feet, experimenting with new ideas to find creative solutions to challenges. As a startup, we value resourcefulness and ingenuity.
    • Excellent Writing: You are an exceptional writer with the ability to craft compelling narratives, sharp copy, and persuasive messages. Your words will be our most potent tool in communicating our brand's essence to the world.
    • Miami-Based. You are willing to work in our Midtown Miami office with us 2 days/week. 


  • 1-3 years of experience in content creation
    • Been a social media guru since it was a thing – it hardly feels like a job
    • Ideally a 4-year degree, but experience and proven performance also speaks for itself
    • Applicants are expected to have current work authorization in the United States
